Tablighi Jamaat at Markaz Nizammuddin In Delhi-

About Tablighi Jamaat

•      Tablighi Jamaat is an organization for Muslims where they gathered and propaganda for Islam region. Recently on 14^th March  Tablighi Jamaat was headed by the head of this organization- Mohammad Saad Kandhlawi. 
•            According to news, Fourteen hundred Muslims gathered there, in which three hundred were foreigners. They all gathered for propaganda in a building at 6th floor of Markaz in Nizammuddin.

Problems Due to this event-

•      After Jamaat all Muslims moved to their cities from where they had come. Just because in those fourteen hundred Muslims, some were in the grip of Corona, all the persons get infected with corona, who came in their contact. While it was known to all that every religious place have been closed due to Corona. But still they……………
•      As per the report available dozens of people test positive for the corona virus & at least seven reportedly die. To curb the corona virus spreading, India launched a massive search to track those who attended this event.
•       In India, COVID-19 positive cases increased by 400 in the past 24 hours as the contagion continue to spread across the country. The sudden jump in cases is linked to the Tablighi Jamaat event in Delhi's Nizamuddin.

Statement by the Group-

•          Tablighi Jamaat is saying that they had not broken the social distancing law. Actually they were forced to accommodate the visitors stranded due to lock-down.
•          This Group also said that a rumor is running across social media that people affected with Covid-19 are present in Markaz allegedly, It’s also running that certain death have occurred due to the same.

Action taken by Government-

•      Police have named six people, including Tablighi Jamaat head Muhammad Saad Kandhlawi  in an FIR for violations of provisions of the Epidemic Diseases Act and the Indian Penal Code. Kandhlawi has been untraceable for the last four days. 
•      Ministry of Home Affairs is set to Blacklist hundreds of preachers from Indonesia who attended the congregation. Just because they all came here on a tourist visa but they participated in a religious conference. This is a violation of visa rule.
•      Police captured an audio clip in which Kandhlawi exhorted people not to be afraid of COVID, calling it “a conspiracy against Islam”.  The speaker in that audio clip is heard saying during a sermon that there was no need to follow the social distancing rule as advised by the Center.

He termed the pandemic as a -

•          “Conspiracy to keep Muslims away from following their religion.”
•          “Where will you run from death? Death is in front of you. You cannot waste time in visiting doctors. Yes, there is a virus, but 70,000 hoors are with us and if they can't save us, who will?”
•         “Who says if we meet then the virus will spread? This is a plan to end the brotherhood among Muslims, to keep them away from each other.”

Opinions on Tablighi Jamaat-

Sufi leader Moulana Syed Ghulam said though he was ideologically opposed to Tablighi Jamaat, but he would support it on principles. “The congregation in Delhi began on March 15. There was no lockdown or ban on congregations. People in Markaz could not move out due to sudden lock-down. There was no transport facility. It is wrong to blame the Jamaat,” 

Omar Abdullah, former chief minister of Indian administered Kashmir Twitted that, “this incident will become a convenient excuse for some to vilify Muslim everywhere as if we created and spread Covid-19 around the world”.

Many people are saying that similar gathering by the people of majority did not attract such a prompt attention by the authority as-

1).  Two day after the Tablighi Jamaat congregation, a large number of Hindu pilgrim gathered in Maharashtra’s Sai Baba temple.

2).  Day later in the central Madhya Pradesh state Shivraj Singh Chauhan of ruling BJP took an oath as the chief minister surrounded by a large crowd ignoring Modi's message of social distancing.

3).  A Day after Modi announced the lockdown the chief minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath has organised a group religious ceremony in Ayodhya town in an apparent violation of lock-down rules.

As  per my view  primarily government should take a strong and invincible action to control the spreading of this virus. As we are already working on social distancing rule.Apart from this –

1. ·        Maximum testing should be conducted
2. ·        Trace the people who were the part of event
3. ·        And send them in quarantine
4. ·        Test all the persons who met to them.

Secondly government should take a strict action against the organization to set an example of result of not following the government guidelines and order.
